UPDATE: On Thursday, Jan. 6, the testing site hours will be shortened to 1-5 p.m. due to inclement weather.

Mako Medical continues to offer free COVID-19 testing for individuals at four community-based testing sites throughout the county, including at the public health facility at Hwy. 85-87 and Fontaine Boulevard in Fountain.

These drive-thru sites are available at the Citadel Mall, Chapel Hills Mall, El Paso County Public Health South in Fountain, and at the corner of Old Meridian Rd. and Chicago Ave. in Falcon. No insurance is required.

The community-based testing sites are available without appointments, and pre-registration online allows for faster check-in and processing times. These testing sites typically produce results within 48 hours of sample collection. These four locations were chosen to allow easier access for diagnostic testing throughout the county, covering areas in the east, south, north and central portions of El Paso County.

As of Dec. 29, testing providers in El Paso County reported an average of 3,387 PCR tests daily over the last seven days, an increase of 28 percent from the previous seven-day period. Mako Medical is adjusting traffic flow and staffing at sites to accommodate increased demand for testing.

The four community-based testing sites in El Paso County will be closed Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, in observance of the New Year's Day holiday. All sites will operate normal hours on New Year's Eve on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, and will resume normal hours on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022.

Directions and regular operating hours for the four sites are:

· Citadel Mall, 750 Citadel Dr. E, Colorado Springs, CO (south of JCPenney). Seven days a week, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

· Chapel Hills Mall, 1710 Briargate Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO (southeast parking lot). Seven days a week, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

· El Paso County Public Health South, 6436 U.S. Highway 85-87, Fountain, CO (enter from Fontaine Blvd.). Seven days a week, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

· Falcon testing site at intersection of Old Meridian Rd. and Chicago Ave. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
