The PPACG Area Agency on Aging and Social Security Administration partner to present Social Security 101, “Understanding Your Social Security Benefits.”  As people begin to approach Social Security, they may see a flood of information that may or may not be fully accurate.  Josh Weller, a public affairs specialist, gives a professional and expert information directly from the Social Security Administration.

The first webinar presentation of the year will be held Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. Registration is required at www.ppacg.org/events. All classes are free.

This webinar is for people approaching retirement age, adult children and interested people.  This session will cover many of the common retirement questions including eligibility for retirement, how age affects retirement benefits, how work affects retirement benefits. Also discussed are spousal, children’s, survivor, and disability benefits with the qualifications and application process for each.

Some previous attendees said this about the sessions:

“It’s a great way to get all the basic information as some additional pointers that could be beneficial down the road. Plus, it is convenient and easy to attend.”

“It was a fact-filled presentation that would help others decide when to file for SS benefits.  The presenter was very credible, not a financial planner winging his way through the complex Social Security rules!”

“The webinar approach for our participation was essential as we live in western Teller County.  We also very much appreciated having the recording available in case our schedule did not permit in person participation.”

The 2022 Social Security 101 presentations are from 4-5:30 p.m. Classes will be held Jan. 24, March 21, May 16, July 18, Sept. 19 and Nov. 21.

Registration is required at www.ppacg.org/events.
