Sgt. Emily Sweeney joins the 2022 U.S. Olympic Luge Team

World Class Athlete Program Soldier-athletes are gearing up for the 2022 Winter Games scheduled for Feb. 4-20 in Beijing. Soldier-athletes will compete in Bobsled, Skeleton, Luge, and Nordic Combined Skiing.

A U.S. Army Soldier in Fort Carson's World Class Athlete Program earned a spot on the 2022 U.S. Olympic Luge Team.

Sgt. Emily Sweeney, a military police officer, was chosen for the team on Jan. 10, has been racing in Luge for more than a decade and will soon compete in her second winter Olympics.
