A few students were injured by a vehicle early Thursday morning as people were arriving to Sproul Junior High in Security. They were transported to a hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

The driver, who some witnesses said had left the scene, apparently came to a stop a short distance later and was treated for “medical issues.”

The school sent out a notification to families alerting them about the incident, but some loved ones -- without specific confirmation to the contrary -- were worried whether their students were among the injured.
