A Fountain pastor who was arrested in 2021 for alleged sexual assault on a child pleaded guilty last week.
On Jan. 20, 53-year-old Kevin Troy Daniels Sr., former senior pastor of New Jerusalem Church, pleaded guilty to the charge of sex assault on a child. He was sentenced to a minimum of two years to life in the Colorado Department of Corrections with a stipulation of lifetime parole if ever granted. Daniels will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The Fountain Police Department (FPD) began an investigation into a report of a sexual assault last April. Daniels turned himself in to the FPD a few days later, and he was arrested without incident.
