Roads around the Fountain Valley are covered in snow today, with schools and many other offices closed. The kids, of course, are enjoying it.

UPDATE: Schools are closed again on Thursday because of extreme cold temperatures and the accompanying hazardous road conditions that are expected.

Fountain Library is set to open at noon. Security Library and Widefield Parks & Rec remain closed.

Fountain Valley Senior Center will be closed.

ORIGINAL: Due to the condition of area roads, the Fountain Valley News office is closed Wednesday, Feb. 2. Some carriers may not be able to complete their routes today if not safely able to do so.

All schools in Fountain and Widefield school districts are closed.

Security and Fountain libraries will be closed.

All El Paso County Public Health COVID testing and vaccine sites will be closed.

This also means Fountain Police Department is on Accident Alert Status, meaning ordinary accidents not requiring emergency assistance should be reported online: https://csp.colorado.gov/i-want-to/crash-information
