Meteor, a well-known pinto palomino stallion still living free in the Sand Wash Basin, is pictured in this photo from January 2022. Many of the wild horses from Sand Wash Basin were rounded up last September, and approximately 78 of those captured will be up for adoption at a Bureau of Land Management event March 4-5 at Pathfinder Regional Park near Florence. People wanting to adopt a wild horse need to pre-qualify through BLM's website prior to the adoption event. See story and photos on p. 14-15.
