Wag of the Week

Last updated 3/22/2022 at 2:49pm

Hi folks, re-running the pics from last week, because, unfortunately, these dogs still all need homes. But we are also re-running Buddy, who is a male Plott Hound/American Staffordshire Terrier, ie a mixed breed. He's sweet and friendly; he was found as a stray in Fountain. He gets along with other dogs and also kids. He's about a year old.

Please make sure your pets are microchipped! Recently, my vet checked to see if my most recent dog had her chip, which was supposedly put in just before adoption from the Humane Society. AARF didn't have any small dogs for a few months, and my AARF dog was so lonely and inert, I had looked at strays and found a dog only 28 pounds. The thing is, my vet couldn't find the chip (my dog was also noted as spayed and was not). In a dog who's had a chip for a long time, it can rove around the body. He scanned her whole body, even though she was very young. Nothing. It was never done. We had to have it done right then. AARF dogs will always be neutered and have their chip, that's for certain. That chip is so important, in case a collar falls off somehow.

For further info on dogs pictured, please see Tumbleweed Country Kennels on Facebook. Also, AARF Colorado on Facebook.

AARF holds adoption fairs at Petsmart on Powers Saturdays 11-2: 2965 N New Center Pt., Colorado Springs, CO 80922. PLEASE CHECK the website/Facebook for any updates (such as inclement weather. Sometimes the fair is right here in Fountain at Tumbleweed Kennels). More info, & call any time: Julie at 719-375-1200 (land line) or Cathy at 719-761-5320.
