William B. Christian brought his family to Fountain in 1891 from Tennessee, 27 years after the Civil War. First stop was Seneca, MO. Lee, the oldest son, was 20 years old and worked on The St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad. The reason for coming? A better life, new start, or they had family living in Fountain since 1876.
After arriving Lee worked for Myron Stratton on the street car line in Colorado Springs. Lee worked for the D&RG railroad for 10 years until 1902. In 1902 he started working for The Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad retiring April 1940 with 37 years. All of his s...
