Summer Reading is HERE!
All readers big and small are invited to come to the library or go online to get signed up for the Summer Reading Program! Not much of a reader? No problem! We have tons of activities for you to participate in.
Reading Fun!
Baby/Toddler and Pre-K-5th grade: We have so much awesome stuff planned for the youngest among us this summer!! Read to your child or have them read independently to win fabulous prizes. Each week will feature either a “Park and Make” or “Take and Make” craft! Story times will take place Mondays and Wednesdays on the Library Patio at 10:30am.
Teens (6-12th grade as of Fall 2022): You will not have to hear the phrase “I’m bored!” out of your teenager this summer with all of the awesome programs we have in store! Teens can read or listen their way to a ton of cool prizes! Each week we will be showing a different movie on Monday and have an activity on Wednesday. Teens only!
Adults: Challenge yourself to get outside of your reading “box” as you travel through “The Game of Life - Library Edition.” Win prizes along the way and be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing when you complete the entire game board. Keep an eye out for monthly crafts both in-person and “take-and-make.”
To make your summer reading experience even easier, “we have an app for that”! Download the “Beanstack Tracker” from your favorite app store or go to beanstack.com and “Find a Site,” then type in Security Public Library to select programs geared for you. From there you can record your reading and activity hours for ALL Summer Reading Programs!
Friday Fun Days with “Board-um” Busters!
Meet us outside on the library patio from 10am-12pm every Friday (June through August) to play board, card, and yard games! From Monopoly to Croquet, there is something for everyone. All ages are welcome!
