Shooting deemed accidental

On June 16, Fountain Police Department responded to a shooting in 700 block of Harvest Field Way (near Fountain Mesa Road and Lake Avenue). Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The FPD Investigations Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. Officials said this appeared to be an accidental shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
