WHS grad found deceased; husband arrested

A woman whose body was found inside a car outside the El Paso County jail when her husband turned himself in for killing her last week has been identified as Widefield High School graduate Melody Horton, 44. Authorities say her husband, 52-year-old David Mitchell, turned himself in on June 24.
The cause and the manner of her death will be determined by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office and have not yet been announced.
