I hope all are well today. I hope most of you have been able to get out to the County Fair or plan to before it ends this Saturday evening, the 23rd. This week, a reminder of our County's request for public input to the Road Safety Plan, as well as the remaining schedule of the free "Concert in the Park" series of summer performances.

First, El Paso County is asking for public input on the draft El Paso County Road Safety Plan. The El Paso County Department of Public Works, along with County partners, stakeholders, residents, and the County's Road Safety Plan consultant, worked together to develop this plan to help make roads safer and reduce deaths and serious injuries on county roads. The El Paso County Road Safety Plan will serve as a guide for the county and partner agencies in implementing recommendations based on an innovative data-driven approach to traffic safety.

The draft El Paso County Road Safety Plan is online for public review now through Aug. 12. Please visit to review the plan. El Paso County encourages the public, especially El Paso County residents, to review the Road Safety Plan and provide public comment by emailing [email protected] After the public comment closes on Aug. 12, the plan will be updated and presented to both the Highway Advisory Commission and the Board of County Commissioners before it is reviewed and voted on. The plan is expected to be finalized by November 2022.

And, El Paso County's free concert series continues with several wonderful groups. Rock, country, bluegrass, jazz and more – we have it all this summer at the El Paso County Concerts in the Park series.
