FRRC Equestrian Obstacles Course fun for horses and riders

Another fun equestrian event courtesy of the Fountain Riding and Roping Club was held on July 17 at the Metcalfe Park Arena in the form of Obstacles – nine of them! Many of the competing horses had not done obstacles before, and even though their riders gently coaxed them at the stranger obstacles, some of them shook their head and just refused! At least they tried. Elliott the donkey also took part!

The event was in two sections, and I just stayed for the first one. The course was so pretty and the obstacles colorful and fun, although not fun enough for some horses!
There will be two more Obstacles events: Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m .; Sunday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m .; and the Finale on Sunday, Oct. 2 ,at 10 a.m. Events are free for spectators.
