Long-time Fountain resident Fran Carrick who IS NOT on Fountain City Council or Fountain's Urban Renewal Authority Board, (but is a Fountain resident as stated), took her time to talk with other Fountain residents to find out what was needed in the City of Fountain. Fran Carrick used her time and money to meet with Mr. LaGree about a family-owned/run grocery store. Fran Carrick also took her time to see a LaGree's store in Poncha Springs. Now how much was Fountain City Council paying for, I guess, a survey and to what group? Could the Fountain City Council find some loose change for Fran Carrick?

Now, we all know that Fountain City Council has to be involved with getting a LaGree or any store in Fountain; what you need a permit for... or I see your loading dock setback is an inch off, or these roads are not able to handle that much truck traffic, or that land is/was not zoned for that type of business...

Residents of Fountain, as of now nothing is set in stone to say. However, why was just one resident of Fountain able to get the LaGree family to take another look at the City of Fountain on her own time and dime?

So, until I see the LaGree store up and running, I will not (as I said) hold my breath as Fountain City Council can/will pull the "Old Dominion" on LaGree.

Oh yeah, I am still waiting on City Council to come pound the pavement in my neighborhood.
