VFW Post in Security offers Open House to community

Security-Widefield Cheyenne Mountain VFW Post 3917 Post Commander Jerry Bryant announced the development of the 2022 Open House for the entire community.

“The opportunity for the Veterans of Foreign Wars to offer this event to our community is long awaited,” said Bryant.

Community partnerships over the past few years have been wonderful, members said. The members of the VFW Post offer to the community their facility as a place of retreat on Saturday the 13th with an Open House from noon-4 p.m.

This year’s Open House will include,

• Free benefit claims assistance from a Nationally Accredited Veterans Affairs Service Officer,

• Pikes Peak Humana,

• A Fire Truck display and Firefighters from the Security Fire Department (if available),

• A vehicle display and Deputies from the El Paso Sheriff Office (if available)

• Jump House

• Wood carving by Robbinswood Carvings

• The Dept. of Veteran Affairs Pikes Peak National Cemetery

• The Fort Carson Army & Air Force Exchange Service

• Free picnic and snow cones!

It’s all free, with plenty of parking available.

The Post is located at 4715 Clear View Drive, Security, just west of Hancock Expressway.
