City gives Link Road update

Last updated 8/9/2022 at 12:45pm

Portions of Link Road have been closed for much of the summer. Since the expected reopening date has passed, the city of Fountain provided this update on the situation, which was posted online Aug. 5:

“With the school year starting next week, the City of Fountain wanted to give an update to the Link Rd closure. Aspen View Homes has been working with several crews trying to get the road done before school started. That was the original goal by all involved when this started and a reason the City had them wait until school was finished to start.

“Unfortunately, many different components from sub grade, concrete shortage, gas lines, Comcast lines and rain have made it such that Aspen View could not make the goal. In conversation and meetings, we thought the road could be paved this past weekend but rain is in the forecast for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Pavement and rain is not a good mix and this is not a job that you can start in inclement weather. With that being said the rest of next week looks like the weather will be nice to pave and we can get Link Rd open for everyone.

“Aspen View Homes has let us know that the road will be open by August 15th at the latest but are in hopes that it could be open sooner if there are not any other surprises.

“We do truly apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our residents and have been doing what we can to make sure that job gets done correctly.”
