Friends, family and members of the community brought flowers and heart-felt notes to a memorial for Deputy Andrew Peery in front of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office last week.

A funeral for El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Peery, who was killed in the line of duty during an Aug. 7 shooting in Security, will be held Monday, Aug. 15, at New Life Church in Colorado Springs.

The ceremony will commence at 11 a.m., and it is open to the public. New Life is located at 11025 Voyager Parkway.

The procession for Deputy Peery will take place after the funeral, sometime between noon and 3 p.m. Monday.

Following the funeral, which is expected to draw thousands, many organizations and individuals will participate in a procession back to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. This is anticipated to impact traffic through Colorado Springs during the afternoon. The route map is attached.

"The procession will begin immediately after the ceremony," a Colorado Springs Police Department statement said. "Expect delays along the route between 12 p.m.-3 p.m. Our community is invited to line the streets with your flags for the family."

The administrative offices of the Sheriff will be closed Monday to allow staff to participate in the funeral.

New Life Church will provide a live stream of the service. The URL for this live stream can be found here: https://boxcast.tv/view/deputy-andrew-peery-memorial-service-tt6omjv6pzxtuadvrpgd.

"Sheriff Bill Elder and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office family would like to thank our public safety partners and the public for their support during this difficult time," an EPSO statement said.
