PFAS movie "Dark Waters" showing Friday

A movie about PFAS contamination starring Mark Ruffalo will be shown in Fountain this Friday, Aug. 19. The event is free and open to all ages.

"Dark Waters" is a family-friendly movie is based on the true story about how chemicals called PFAS became known contaminants.

People who lived in Fountain Valley between 2006 and 2015 were exposed to PFAS in their drinking water. Event sponsor CO Scope, which is currently conducting a health study on residents who lived here during those years, invites the public to attend to learn more about this issue and enjoy free popcorn.

The movie event will be 6-8 p.m. at the Fountain YMCA, 326 W. Alabama Ave.

Free popcorn is included if you bring your answer to the question included in your RSVP and emailed confirmation slip.
