Nature Adventures: Roam the Rabbitbrush

Thursday, September 1, 9 – 10:30 a.m.

Friday, September 2, 9 – 10:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-6, with an adult, will enjoy puppet shows or stories, crafts, hands-on activities, and discovery time on the trail. Prepaid registration required. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

2’s & 3’s Outdoors: Wiggly Worms

Thursday, September 8, 9 – 10:15 a.m.

Friday, September 9, 9 – 10:15 a.m.

Explore nature with your 2 or 3-year-old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike. Prepaid registration required. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Full Moon Hike at Fox Run — Friday, September 9, 7–8:30 p.m.

Fox Run Regional Park

The full moon has always been a source of mystery, myth, and folklore. As we enjoy a 1.5-mile hike under the full moon, we will share stories of the night and the moon. Leave your flashlights at home and let the moon light our way. For ages 5 and up. Prepaid registration required. $5 per person/$4 per member.


Fall Bird Count — Saturday, September 10, 7:30 - 10:30 a.m.

Join the annual tradition and help record the number of bird species and populations found in Fountain Creek Regional Park during fall migration. $5/person donation.

Girl Scout Badge Event — Saturday, September 17, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Daisies, Brownies and Juniors can register for fun sessions to meet badge requirements for several badges. $5 per badge activity.

Homeschool Fridays: Awesome Arthropods

Friday, September 23, 2 – 4 p.m.

Not “bugs”—arthropods! Learn about insects, spiders, and their relatives with a puppet show, arthropod activity, and guided hike to catch arthropods. Designed for grades K-2. $4 per person, 10 participants; participants can join with other homeschool groups. Prepaid registration required. $4 per person.


Active Adults: Kane Ranch Open Space Hike

Saturday, September 24, 8–11 a.m.

Discover the vast landscape, hidden wildlife, and wild history of one of El Paso County’s newest trails and open spaces. The prairie and dry cottonwood creek at Kane Ranch are home to unique wildlife and understated beauty. Join us for an adults-only social walk! Prepaid registration required. $5 per person/$4 per member.
