Colorado's heritage and agricultural roots will be on display at the 150th Colorado State Fair, which opens Friday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. and continues through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, at the State Fairgrounds in Pueblo. The 2022 theme is "150 Years of Fun" and a record-setting number of attractions and entertainment offerings are planned for the 11-day event. Visitors can use the daily schedule found on the Colorado State Fair website to plan their visits.
"Today is the day!" said Scott Stoller, General Manager of the Fair. "We've been planning the festivities for months and now we get to open the gates and celebrate together!"
Visitors to the 2022 Colorado State Fair will enter through recently-updated Gate 5, which serves as the main entrance to the Fair, and now has improved functionality designed to limit wait times. This year's performer lineup includes some of the biggest names ever to take the stage, including The Band Perry with special guest Priscilla Block, T.I., Walker Hayes, Stone Temple Pilots presented by the Colorado Lottery, comedian Jim Gaffigan and many more, including dozens of free concerts.
New events and attractions include a 150-ton Colorado State Fair sand sculpture by Sandscapes, the Colorado Proud trail, and the USA Mullet Championship, and we will see returning fan favorites such as the Governor's Plate competition and PRCA RAM and SECOM/SECPA Ranch rodeos. Colorado Proud food vendors will be offering fair food, and dozens of 4-H and FFA competitions, including the Junior Breeding Heifer Show presented by ENT Credit Union, and the Master Showmanship Class presented by I Matter will highlight the work and dedication of the next generation of ag leaders. The festivities will conclude with a commemorative firework display to end celebrations on Labor Day.
Hours for the 2022 Colorado State Fair have changed. The fairgrounds will be open to the public from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday – Sunday and Labor Day.
