On the night of Aug. 25, Fountain Valley Senior Center was vandalized and one of the buses that is used to transport Seniors to Medical and other necessary appointments was vandalized. The catalytic converter was stolen and therefore that vehicle will be out of commission for approximately a week if not longer. The Center does have insurance and the deductible is $1,000; if anyone would like to help cover the deductible, please send your donation to the Center or drop off a donation Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Donations may be mailed to: Fountain Valley Senior Center, 5745 Southmoor Drive, Fountain, CO 80817. The center is a 501c non-profit organization and receipts are available if you would like one sent to you.
Part-time Transportation Driver needed:
Fountain Valley Senior Center is looking for a professional, responsible individual who has a passion to serve seniors with their transportation needs. This job is 15-26 hours a week, Monday through Friday (no weekend hours) and a flexible schedule. We will provide the training; a drug screening will be required and your driving record will be checked. Please contact the Senior Center at 719-600-2643 and ask to speak Mark or Clara. You may also stop by the office at 5745 Southmoor Dive, Fountain, and pick up an application. Immediate opening available.
We are also searching for an outgoing, professional, positive volunteer for the front office. Tuesday through Thursday hours are available between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Answering phones, welcoming members to the center and simple office duties are main needs. You may call the office at 719-600-2644 or drop by the office at 5745 Southmoor Drive between the hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Coffee and Donuts – Monday thru Friday starting at 8:00 a.m. – donations welcome, donuts are .50 cents. Come join us and shoot the breeze, chew the fat, spread some gossip,
Bingo – Every Tuesday and Thursday at 1 p.m. Cash prizes, popcorn, soda and great fun.
Lunches are served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. for a suggested donation of $3.50 for those over 60. If you are under 60, there is a cost of $7.25 per person.
Game Day is the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Senior Center. Card games, dominoes and other games are played and lunch is at 11 a.m. Bring a dish to share and enjoy a fabulous main dish prepared by Richard and Shelly Igo. This is a fundraiser and a suggested donation of $5 is welcomed.
The Thrift Store is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. and on the 1st Saturday of the month for Super Saturday where all items are 50 percent off. The third Thursday of the month is Military Day, and with a valid Military ID items are 50 percent off.
