Zenner Yoga & Healing studio, 107 E. Ohio Ave. in Fountain, is hosting a fundraiser class on Sept. 18 at 8:30 a.m., with 100 percent of the proceeds going to support people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
Owner Jennifer Zenner Clark shared that September is national recovery month and, as such, she is focusing on raising $5,000 to contribute to this important cause.
"Alcohol and drug addiction have been a problem well before COVID, but we've noticed an uptick in mental health struggles and substance abuse disorder since the pandemic," she said.
"This partnership with the nonprofit Trini Foundation allows people in recovery to find tools and community through yoga and meditation by paying for scholarships as well as paying Zenner yoga teachers to bring yoga to treatment centers and detox facilities in the El Paso County area," she explained.
She said that at this time Zenner Yoga studio has several sober members practicing yoga on scholarship, and the benefits are immense.
"Currently, we are the only partner studio in all of Colorado," she added.
