Firefighters remember 9-11

Members of the Security Fire Department pose after participating in the Denver 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Sept. 11. They ascended 110 flights of stairs in memory of those firefighters who lost their lives in the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York on Sept. 11, 2001. Members of other local agencies also participated in this event.

Firefighters across Colorado remember the catastrophic event of 9-11.

City of Manitou Springs

Firefighters from across Colorado and the United States on Sunday climbed the Manitou Incline in remembrance of those who died on Sept. 11, 2001. In full gear, sometimes weighing more than 65 pounds, these firefighters climbed 2,768 steps with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet.
