Library Closures and Late Openings

Monday, Oct. 10 – Closed for Indigenous Peoples' Day and Columbus Day

Scary Story Contest Oct. 1-31

Share your best scary (or not-so-scary) story! There are prizes.

A 1st and 2nd place winner will be chosen from each category:

• K-3rd grade, 4th-5th grade, 6th-8th grade, 9th-12th grade, Adult

• 1st place: $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble

• 2nd place: $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble


One original entry per person

Include: name, address, phone number, and age/grade

Must be received by 10-31-22

Craft @ the Library: Saturday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m.-noon

Embrace the fall season by creating an adorable pumpkin or snowman. Registration is required and spots are limited to ages 12 and older. See our website for sign-up information.

Korean Lotus Lantern Class

Saturday, Oct. 15 1-2:30 p.m.

The Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project (KSCPP) will teach participants step by step how to make a lovely lotus flower lantern using colored paper and a pre-made wire frame. At the same time, participants will learn about Korea's unique history and culture. A short documentary film will be played toward the end of the class.

Registration is required. Participants must be 10 years or older.

Book Sale: Oct. 21-22

Friday, Oct. 21, 6-8 p.m.

Friends of the Library members only! You can sign up at the door or in the library during normal business hours. $5 for a year or $25 for lifetime membership.

Saturday, Oct. 22

8-9 a.m.: FOL (Friends of the Library) members only

9 am - 4 pm: General Public

Children's Activities for October

Preschool Storytime: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays @ 10:30 a.m.

Join us each week for new stories, crafts, friends, and fun!

Little Bookworms Storytime (0-3 yr olds): Thursdays @ 9:30 a.m.

Although all ages are welcome at our preschool storytimes, we invite our youngest patrons to this special program geared just for them! We focus on songs, movement and having fun!

Homeschool Crew: Wednesday, Oct. 19 @ 11:15 a.m. at S.A. Education Center (930 Leta Dr.)

Each month we have fun STEAM activities that revolve around a different theme. Have some fun and meet some fellow homeschool friends! This program is off site. Please call us at 719-391-3197 or go to our website for more information.

Grab and Go Crafts Are Back

A new children's craft is available each week, while supplies last.

Teen Activities for October

Teen Activity Night: Oct. 11, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Come participate in this month's activity-planned by teens, for teens.

Teen Movie Night: Oct. 28, 5:30 p.m. - end of movie

Grab your friends and come watch a movie at the library after hours! Wear your comfy clothes, snag a bag of popcorn, grab a drink, and watch this month's PG or PG-13 feature.
