FORT CARSON – In an effort to better balance current installation access point usage and manning requirements, Fort Carson has implemented changes to Gates 2 and 4 operations.
Gate 2 has closed as of Oct. 31, and it will not reopen for the foreseeable future.
Beginning Nov. 4, Gate 4 (also known as the B Street Gate) will only be open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m.–9 p.m. It will be closed on weekends, federal holidays and Days of No Scheduled Activities (DONSAs).
Gate 5 will have the same hours as Gate 4.
Gates 6 and 19 will continue to be open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m.–6 p.m., and closed on weekends, federal holidays and DONSAs.
Gates 1, 3 and 20 will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“Fort Carson realizes these changes may impact those who commute to and from the installation,” a spokesperson said. “We recommend all personnel identify alternate routes and prepare for these changes in advance to ensure commutes are not seriously affected.”
