Members of the Fountain Youth Council presented an "Adopt-a-..." program to the City Council on Nov. 15. The program, which will include roadsides, parks, trails, open spaces, etc., was approved by Council. It will be the official coordination system for volunteer efforts to remove trash and litter from the City's public places. The "Adopt-a-..." program allows citizens, groups, churches and other organizations to show pride in their community by working to beautify a roadway, park, trail or open space. It also provides an opportunity for community members and businesses to help keep the city clean and litter free. The city invites residents to be a part of positive change by joining a program that works for your lifestyle and helps keep Fountain clean. If you are interested in putting together a cleanup event for your community, there are many approaches you can use to increase participation and maximize safety.
