Anderson Lee Aldrich's booking photo was released by the Colorado Springs Police Department on Nov. 23.

The man suspected of killing five people and injuring at least 17 others with gunfire in a Colorado Springs nightclub on Saturday is believed to be the same person arrested for making bomb threats in Lorson Ranch in June 2021.

Colorado Springs Police Department arrested Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, around midnight at Club Q, an LGBTQ-friendly club, shortly after the rampage.

A man by the same name and listed as age 21 last year was arrested in Lorson Ranch after authorities were notified by his mother that he was making bomb threats and threatening her with other weapons. A number of homes in the area were evacuated while deputies attempted to talk Aldrich into surrendering, which he did after about four hours.

Although he was arrested and charged with felony menacing and kidnapping, there does not appear to have been significant follow-through on the case and the reason for that remains unclear. However, at that time the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said the Regional Explosives Unit cleared the area and did not find any explosive devices.
