Good day, everyone. I hope all are well and enjoying the week so far. Today I have a short update on our budget process, and then some parks and fair events you might be interested in during this Christmas and holiday season.

Our final county budget meeting to approve the 2023 budget and appropriate funds will happen at the December 6 El Paso County Board of Commissioners meeting. This coming year's $470 million budget directs $127 million for public safety and $61 million for public works, which includes an increase of nearly $18 million to roads and bridges. I'm also proud of our efforts to increase funding for our parks in this budget, which includes $1.4 million to support the Northern Nature Center, parks maintenance, and wildfire mitigation efforts. Another highlight in this budget is additional funding of $400,000 for homeless camp and code enforcement cleanups. For a full summary of our 2023 budget, please visit
