Fountain Valley News - Your Hometown Community Newspaper

As reported in our Nov. 16 issue, the Fountain Valley News is planning to close after our Dec. 28, 2022, issue. Our staff members have continued to pursue options to keep this community newspaper open, both in print and online. We have received only one possible inquiry from an outside party that may be interested in helping, so there is a glimmer of hope. However, it is much too soon to say whether that will result in a viable solution.

We intend to provide you with updates when possible. If there is no buyer for our paper or other plan in place soon, we will give our subscribers the necessary information with regard to possible refunds on payments made in advance for subscriptions beyond December. Please know that we are doing everything we can to explore various options, but today's world is not a kind one for newspapers. We also want to thank the many readers who have reached out in recent weeks to let us know how much they appreciate their "hometown newspaper." It truly means the world to us. If only a small handful of volunteers could save it, that would be wonderful. However, we need something with a much more significant financial backing in order to be viable. Thank you for your understanding.
