On Nov. 30, Fountain Code Enforcement officers Stephens and Cornella observed smoke coming from the field behind the Loves Travel Stop on Bandley Road. Upon further investigation, they found two unoccupied tents in an unlawful campsite and an unattended open fire burning. Officer Stephens extinguished the fire just prior to the Fountain Fire Department arriving on scene; however, since it was still smoldering the Fire Department took further action to ensure that it would not re-ignite. The unlawful campsite was posted with a Notice of Violation for Trespass on private property and use of property by another.
