Sen. Gardner in new GOP role

State Senator Bob Gardner (R-Colorado Springs), whose constituency in Senate District 12 encompasses most of Security, Widefield, Fort Carson and parts of Fountain, as well as other areas of El Paso and Teller counties, is now serving as the assistant minority leader.
On Friday the Senate Minority Caucus held leadership elections following the recent resignation of JBC member Senator Bob Rankin (R-Carbondale).
At the start of the 74th General Assembly, the leadership of the Colorado Senate Republicans will be as follows:
Minority Leader: Paul Lundeen (R - Monument)
Assistant Minority Leader: Bob Gardner (R - Colorado Springs)
Caucus Chair: Jim Smallwood (R - Parker)
Minority Whip: Cleave Simpson: (R - Alamosa)
JBC Member: Barbara Kirkmeyer: (R - Weld County)
